I was actually looking online for a simple NAS drive to stick at home as a temporary backup drive for my personal iPhoto libraries, when I came across the 1TB USB 2.0 thumb drive on eBay. I was skeptical at first, and turns out, I wasn’t the only one. A quick Google search shows plenty of people doubting the storage boasts of the drive. Anyway, for £14.99, I decided I’d give it a go and placed an order.

I use Google Apps for Work for my email. Some people may argue that its not the right thing to do, and that you can run your own servers etc. Yes, that’s true. I did. But I like access to my mail anywhere, and across multiple devices. So for £3.30 a month (I only use one account) there isn’t a better option out there as far as I’m concerned.
I wanted a simple, free, and non-intrusive anti-virus solution for a Windows Server 2012 File Server I was installing. It was sitting behind a firewall, and on a network with fully protected machines, but I didn’t want to leave it unprotected.
I noticed an issue with Safari, when opening a new tab, and beginning to type the address, it would freeze for a few seconds. Not a lot, but enough to be annoying. It would also happen sometimes when switching between tabs, or Safari Windows.

Not glamorous, not particularly exciting, and not going to set the world alight. But, this simple little hub is an example of a quality product, with thoughtful touches and great packaging. All in all it means I’m a lot more likely to be buying accessories from Anker than I was before.
